Abstract

Tendinopathies — including lateral epicondylitis, plantar fasciitis, and supraspinatus tendinopathy — represent a significant burden in orthopaedic practice, accounting for over 30% of musculoskeletal consultations. Despite widespread use of intralesional corticosteroid injections, long-term outcomes remain suboptimal, with high recurrence rates. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has emerged as a promising biologic alternative, yet head-to-head comparative data from the Indian subcontinent remain limited. Our study, involving 90 patients (45 per group), provides robust prospective evidence directly comparing these two modalities over a six-month follow-up period.
